Reid Vanier is a Founding Member of Standard Deviation Theatre and served as its General Director in its inaugural season. As Artistic Director, he brings together his experiences on and off the stage as an actor, director, dramaturg, technician, and producer, in the hope of creating vibrant new work as well as challenging new interpretations of the classics.

Paul Carere is a graduate of the University of Waterloo and a Founding Member of Standard Deviation Theatre. He has always considered himself an entertainer, but he has been an actor since high school, including in notable roles such as Dobchinsky in The Government Inspector and Ezra Chater in Tom Stoppard’s Arcadia. He has recently ventured into the realms of writing and directing and had the good fortune to take part in the first production of his play The Theremin Player two years ago. He is thrilled to be working with very talented friends and dramatists for Standard Deviation’s sophomore season and just as thrilled that you are interested enough to be reading this bio.
